MEXICO UNDER MARTIAL LAW

I just heard from a reliable source in Mexico that martial law has been imposed. The country is under complete military lockdown. Mexican citizens and American tourists have had their movement tightly restricted and are being told to stay off the streets under penalty of arrest. Mexican officials are denying that the country is about to collapse. UPDATE (03:28 08 March 2009): These guys just picked up on the story: http://www.freepressinternational.com/2009/03/ciudad-juarez-mexico-under-martial-law/ Here's a collection of some other relevant links from the comments: http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/americas/03/07/mexico.headless.bodies/index.html http://www.google.com/search?q=mexico+gang+warfare http://digg.com/world_news/MEXICO_PLACED_UNDER_MARTIAL_LAW http://chrysler5thavenue.blogspot.com/2009/03/geraldo-was-silenced.html Geraldo was silenced, but there is more information out there. If you happen to be in Mexico or have more information about this, please post anything you can tell us. I have enabled posting anonymously if you are an official with any government or directly or indirectly involved with this action. UPDATE (20:11 08 March 2009): Video of Geraldo's suppressed report corroborating this story: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWoKcRmup7U.

  1. Wow, I can only imagine how many mexicans are going to illegally flood into america now, to avoid the chaos and deterioration of order that follows martial law.

  2. Yeah, yeah, yeah...good opportunity for the US to annex Mexico and all that world-order event frou-frou stuff.

NOW WHERE ARE THE GNOMES, BY GOD??

  3. Some people are saying this is just a blog-based rumor, but similar reports have been confirmed by Geraldo on Fox News tonight.

  4. This is going to have a noticeable impact on the world.

  5. I saw this on Fox news tonight. It said "Breaking News - Mexican pres declares martial law civilians and Americans put on lockdown" then it dissapeared. It was odd.

  6. Well, it's definitely not in my blog, so it can't be true.

Nevertheless, I just had a terrible thought!! This won't impact my supply of chicken ranchero tacos from the fresco menu at Taco Bell will it??? OMG!!!

  7. They seem to be at war or on a wide scale raid of the drug cartels down there from what i gather from the news, but then again its the news. Wonder how this will unfold and the economic effect this might present for north America and potentially the world.

  8. aren't a lot of officials there corrupt, especially police? i hope this doesn't mean those guys are roaming the streets, think of how bad that would be. man i hope this isnt' true.

  9. Geraldo is a credible source. The U.S. government shut him down so as not to panic everyone. It probably came from somewhere high up.

  10. Apparently this is all very hush-hush and mexican authorities are trying to present an air of normalcy. The press is being kept out of the loop.

  12. Wow, it looks like absolute chaos down there! This won't end well.

  13. Found some background information here.

  14. Did the reports say anything about Taco Bell?

  15. I swear to GOD, if they put a lockdown on Taco Bell there's going to be HELL TO PAY!!! Heads will roll!!!

  16. I'm in Sydney Australia and I just saw Geraldo with the announcement of martial law in mexico - and now its gone!!

  17. I'm an American currently living in Hermosillo, Sonora, MX.

I would like to share my ideas on this rumor that cropped up in the past 24 hours.

Nothing new is happening in Mexico. The state government of Chihuahua and the city government of Ciudad Juarez are thinking about giving the Military more rule over the city of Juarez only, but this hasn't been done, and if it is, it will only affect the city of Juarez.

  18. The above comment by UFB is part of disinformation campaign to counter the disturbing news coming out of Mexico. If you look at his blog, you will see it was created in the past few days in anticipation of the actions taking place in Mexico.

  19. Selchie you are an idiot. It's people like yourself that are the reason the the USA is in so much trouble. You don't get it and refuse to understand the gravity of this situation. All you care about is whether or not you get Taco Bell. As if that even comes from Mexico you moron.

  20. Ok dude, You can check my IP address. I live and work in Mexico, and was just sharing some information with the group here. I'm sorry that information isn't what you wanted. You know what.. I'm not going to argue with you, because I think we are both on the same side here. I'll just check back later.

What you see in Juarez now is what has happened in the past in Tijuana. I never said there wouldn't be martial law, I was stating the fact that there isn't, and it will more than likely just be in the city of Juarez if this does happen.

The reason no one can organize and be productive in OUR movement of truth is because of thinking everyone else with a different view on the same side is some how part of a grand scheme.

    Peace.

  21. It's a new blog, alright.

    I don't buy your story.

    ReplyDelete
  22. And if it was a two year old blog.. what difference would that make..?

I won't ask you to believe me, I don't think I ever did..

I was linked to this site in an ATS thread, I seen that the writer here asked anyone with any information to post it here, so that is what I was doing. I guess I didn't check the disclaimer about it needing to be information that 100% backed up and supported the OP.

I am just like anyone else that doesn't use the MSM to get my information.. I am looking for the truth to form my own opinions upon.

All I stated is what I know to be truth from South of the boarder, as someone that is living under the Mexican government first hand. If I am wrong, then I am wrong, we will see in a few days, but please don't try to undermine me by undermining yourself with statements like I'm a disinfo agent.

If you are right and I'm wrong, I guess I will be the one having to deal with it seeing as how I actually live here. If I'm right I'm not gonna come running back here to say you were lying. I don't believe you are, I just don't think you have all of the facts at this time.

    Sorry if that bothers you.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Doesn't bother me a bit.

    I don't buy your story.

  24. You care to back up your comments with some real information? A one liner makes me think you don't really know what's going on.

  25. Some Of The Obvious Complications
    .
While I believe both sides of the debate regarding legalization of drugs have good intentions and want to solve or prevent aggravating conditions, I would like to point out some of the obvious complications with trying to determine exactly how to implement any drug legalization plan.
    .
Specifically, we almost always hear a simplistic recommendation to “legalize it, tax it, control it”. While simple phrasing makes such a plan sound equally simplistic, the implementation of that plan is extremely complicated.
    .
To begin with, such a suggestion assumes the U. S. would be the end of the shipping route. In reality, the U. S. would become a transshipping point for export to other countries with higher drug prices which would simply bring the current street battles seen daily in Mexico to the U.S.
    .
Remember the frequently cited example of alcohol Prohibition occurred in a time when alcohol sales were legal in countries other than the U.S.
    .
Therefore, the idea of legalizing drugs in the U. S. is completely out of the question unless there is the highly unlikely situation in which legalization is implemented at the same time and under the same conditions in all countries that could use the U. S. as a transshipment point.
    .
If there was not a simultaneous international legalization of “recreational” drugs, we would defeat the domestic purpose of legalization while creating a disaster of international relations with other countries who would be undermined by our policy of legalization.
    .
In conclusion, to all proponents of drug legalization as a solution to the violence we currently see in Mexico, I believe that legalization would not prevent such violence but would move the battle over shipping routes immediately to the U. S.
    .
Legalization would produce the opposite of the intended result.

  26. I agree with all of that 100 and 10 percent.

Now, what does that have to do with you not 'buying' my post? Or was that remark made to the original writer of this particular blog?

  27. Oh shit, that's great news!!! I always thought Taco Bell was owned by Mexican cartel lords with a death grip on the salsa and shredded cheese market!!! I felt socially irresponsible for eating there, but I just couldn't help myself!! Their spicy avocado sauce is teh sex.

I'm glad that concern is off my mind. Whew!! Thanks, you've made my day...

    ReplyDelete
  30. You will find up to 350,000 mexican troops being deployed along the US border to invade followed by Chinese and Russians also in Mexico. The fake war on drugs is to cover this deployment. The US government knows about it and will actually help in order to make the north American Union a reality. CIA is also orchestrating a crime wave in the US in the near future using Latino Crime gangs, MS-13 and LGF in over 3,500 cities.....not counting the KKK and many others in order to justify martial law in the US and we will want it. Using the Heligian dialectic masterfully as they have been doing a long time.

  36. Anonymous,

please.. in about 20 minutes I will be walking out my front door, heading to work.. I bet you all the money I will make this year that Mexico is NOT under martial law. People like you are dangerous, as I fully believe that you are just wanting for something to happen.. anything actually.

I keep posting on this blog for this reason:

I don't want anyone to happen upon this thread and worry about any family members they have here in Mexico. The violence is bad, especially in Juarez at the moment.. but that has been going on for a LOOOOOOOONG time. I don't want people to believe this story because it isn't true. I think I would know that.. I live in the state capital of Sonora.

Blogs like this are what give blogs a bad name, reporting things that just aren't true, and then not having the guts to make a retraction.

  39. It's been over 8 hours since we last heard from "BAH", the mexican civilian who foolhardly believed, to his final moment, that everything was going alright. I love that dedication, that blind patriotism. I hope he was only detained, and did not become a casualty of the horrible violence.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Wow, I wasn't taking this story seriously at first, but I am concerned about the CBP being able to handle the tremendous upsurge in border crossings from those fleeing from the unrest!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Yeah, it's been over 8 hours.. it's called having other obligations.

I will continue to post here, but please keep it civil, or don't.. I will.

If you will go back and read all I have posted, I have never said that there wasn't violence going on, or that there wasn't a military presence in Juarez. I have said over and over again that the story of 'Mexico is under Martial Law' is completely false.

Now, I can play that half witted game of 'dis-info' with you all day long. I haven't printed one false statement.

Now, I can understand where you may get the idea of "martial law" I guess.. but you have to realize that Mexico is not the United States, it is normal for the Military to work along side Federal Police in matters such as this. I wouldn't expect you to know that though, you don't live here, and it seems as though you stand by a clip that was taken off of one of the worst MSM outlets in the world, and one of the most sensationalizing drama queen reporters ever. That being said, I love Fox news, but I know how to think for myself as well.

The problems that you are seeing around the boarder and in some cases other parts of the country, have been going on. Did I say it wasn't any worse than it was 6 months ago?? No I didn't. I said that it's been happening for a long time.

Finally, I really am not here to argue over this with anyone. I know what I am saying.

I will state, for the record, one more time:

Mexico is no under Martial Law. That is the issue I have with this thread.

    Thanks

  42. Oh yes, and Youri.. reread my post.. I am not a Mexican civilian. I am an American Citizen.. born and raised in Southeastern Georgia. I only work here.

  43. BAH, I am glad you are alright and were not killed, harmed or detained during the current decree of martial law down there in Mexico. Please let us know if the situation quiets down and any order is restored. It seems like it'll be a while before civilians are allowed back on the streets.

    ReplyDelete
  44. it hasn't gotten noisy here. Will you please respond to what I actually post? Reply to my post, or don't waste your time (and I'm not saying that to be mean spirited).

    ReplyDelete
  45. BAH, it sounds like you've been pretty lucky over there so far. I just sent off an email to my congressmen demanding they take action to secure the safety of American nationals in Mexico and airlift you out of that bloody mess. If you get low and food and water before our government takes action, let me know: I am in touch with a team of guys, mostly former U.S. Special Forces operatives, that say they are willing to boat across the gulf (at night, I imagine) to extract you from that warzone. Stay in touch!

  46. I live in Juarez Mexico, I was born here 22 years ago and I've lived here almost all of my life...

WE ARE NOT UNDER MARTIAL LAW, we are just under heavy military surveillance because of the incredible number of deaths caused by the drug cartel wars, PLEASE NOTE THAT MILITARY AND FEDERAL POLICE SURVEILLANCE DOES NOT EQUAL MARTIAL LAW. The police department has been handed over to the military because it's completely corrupt and inefficient, and this would be considered martial law by american standards.

Im currently at work in my office, I am able to go out and do things and live my life, save for the few military checkpoints here and there... not much has really changed. last night i went bowling and I had dinner with my girlfriend, like any other night.

Frankly, im glad the military took over, it's been over 2 weeks now and the violence has significantly diminished... I was sick and tired of listening to gunfire near my home almost once or twice a week. We need some peace and quiet and if this is the way to get it, then im fine with it for the time being.

No constitutional rights have been suspended, there's only heavy surveillance but the military and the federal police have been here for awhile, they're just bringing backup

  47. martial law

    –noun
    1. the LAW temporarily IMPOSED upon an area BY state or national MILITARY FORCES when civil authority has broken down or during wartime military operations.
    2. the law imposed upon a defeated country or occupied territory by the military forces of the occupying power.

Martial Law by this definition has been enacted in Mexico for a very long time.

Wake up sheople. If you have eyes to see and ears to hear then think for your self, don't believe me, this blog, or anyone at all for that matter. Research it for your self

And For all you little D-Bags that can't get a basic grip on definitions of words.

Martial Law = Military is the Police, point blank, f*** off.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Check out Eduardo's double speak

"WE ARE NOT UNDER MARTIAL LAW"

"The police department has been handed over to the military because it's completely corrupt and inefficient, and this would be considered martial law by american standards."

American standards? "The police department has been handed over to the military" are your own words.

I guess that is not martial law where you come from, but here in the real world you can pick up any dictionary from any country in any language and find out that the standards in every nation to qualify for martial law are all the same.

"Frankly, im glad the military took over,"

To that I would reply with original distaste and disgust, but Benjamin Franklin exposed sheep like this pretty well.

"Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."

    Wake Up Sheople

    ReplyDelete
  49. This is absurdity. I will not deny the loosely defined martial law in Mexico at the moment, but do you really believe this to be a bad thing? I can't help but feel the situation needs sorting out, and the military are best suited for this, are they not? The fighting cannot continue, and clearly the police were unable to handle the situation. The military have acted on this with relative efficiency, it's forseeable that there could be some sort of resolution coming sooner than we think.

Before I finish off this post, i'll get all your accusations (Which are inevitable) cleared.

I am not an agent of disinformation. I am a second year politics student. I find it amusing that if someone disagrees with you, you instantly accuse them of disinformation. Who are you to say what is right or wrong? Are you God? Nobody can present what they say as fact in a situation like this, all people can have are opinions, and you need to accept that different people have different opinions. I look forward to either a vague and noncommital response, or an irrelevant and unfounded accusation.

I know I shouldn't feed the trolls, but these people clearly are not trolling. They genuinely believe they are justified in what they say and do, and that is the worst thing of all.
